Distance-learning can feel drastically different than in person learning. There are many reasons people do distance-learning such as it can be more flexible or it’s the easiest option in terms of finances. During COVID-19 everyone had to deal with distance-learning due to the risk of the spread. I was in my second year of college when I had to transition and at first it was difficult. I am not the most text savvy person, even for being born in the early 2000s. I remember when we were transitioning from in person to online it was my first class of the day the school was reassuring us that we were in class and not going online. By the time I got to my second class they were all sending us home. Next thing I know we had a week off so that the professors could figure out how to configure there in person to online teaching.  I also enjoyed the more in person learning because it felt more real. Now I’m doing remote learning again for my final semester at FSU. It does feel different, perhaps it’s because I chose this rather than being forced or perhaps this was a more prepared arrangement.

Open educational resources are learning resources that are available for anyone to access. Although they can be used in many ways, they are typically distributed online. There are five rights associated with open educational resources, such as retain, reuse revise, remix, and redistributed. Educators can access OER’s and even contribute materials and resources. It’s almost like a community potluck where you bring and share with others and enjoy others as well.

I think out of all the assignments we had this semester assignment for was the most challenging to me. Although the PowerPoint was easy enough, to record the voice over prove to be a slight challenge. For whatever reason the audio wouldn’t save leaving me missing 1/2 of the assignment. After much googling, I found the issue was just a slight software update that did the trick. It’s always interesting to see that technology can be so advanced yet if it’s not up-to-date, it can also be useless as well.
