When working on assignment three, which was to create a web design, I’d like to think I gained a few new skills. I learned how to create a website which would be important, not only for a teaching field, but in any field you decide to choose as a career path. I hadn’t realize the types of options I had, such as a portfolio or blog. I enjoyed how creative I could be with this assignment while also doing what was required, but also putting my own touches to it. What I didn’t realize was how tedious this task was. I had everything planned out, but trying to figure everything out took me more time than I expected. Although it was difficult at times, I never let it discourage me. I knew that if I did this, even if I messed up at times, I was here to learn. And really, that’s all that matters.

My initial thoughts on using Diigo is still the same, that it doesn’t seem like it would be a tool that I would personally use or take full advantage of.  I know that I personally haven’t been taking advantage of the site as I navigate things in my own way that just works for me. Although I still believe that many others are finding this site to be useful in their own way and are taking advantage of it.

Teachers are truly the leaders of the world. Since we were young, teachers have been there to guide and to teach us. With that said, as curriculum and technology changes, teachers are one of the first people to learn how to adapt in order to continue the process of teaching. However, teachers need to stay aware of new developments too. One site I used to stay informed of technology trends in education is actually Instagram. There are many accounts that are used to spread awareness in teaching and share new methods. I like to see how other teachers are in their classrooms and see how teachers my age are navigating the field. I feel like I can learn a lot from watching them.

  1. Hi Angel! Love your website. The consistency went beyond the layout throughout all the pages. I like who you have nature theme going with flowers, stars, scenery, and your snails!! Every page has the same organization which makes navigation really smooth and information easy to find!
