My initial thoughts on using Diigo is that it doesn’t seem like it would be a tool that I would personally use or take full advantage of. Diigo is a social bookmarking and annotation tool that allows individuals and groups of people to highlight content and add comments to websites. Any annotated items can then be uploaded and organized in an outlining document. It seems like a great tool to use but I have my own way of keeping things organized that I feel this just takes up space.

My experience with blogging is quite the opposite from the other resource we are currently using. I enjoy some of the writing questions we are discussing and I feel that I am able to freely express my thoughts and opinions on the topics. A lot of what we have been learning within this class is also being integrated within our blogs as well. One thing I do enjoy is that we are able to explore and share our knowledge as well as being able to read other students blogs to see their understanding of the course materials.

One Web 2.0 tool that I would use within my own classroom would be Open study. Open study is this social site that encourages students to work with other students who are studying the same material as them. I do believe in the importance of studying within a group because sometimes what one person doesn’t understand another person does. It also a great use of students coming together and collaborating on an assignment because it’s also a real life skill that is being taught too. I am a person who is more keen on working independently, but sometimes being productive with another person makes studying feel easier.
